I heard from a scally-wag in the Apostle Islands that with a light buffing and a wipe of Penetrol, the color of the hull will leap out at you! I'll be trying this in the Spring and will let you know how it comes out. Otherwise, curse you and the Mermaid you road in on! Cap'n Bloodletter

So... if anyone wants a small boat to practice on before starting on their own big expensive project, I've got a little sunfish that is neglected and oxidized. Maybe we could do some experimenting on getting it shined up??? Contact me, I'd love some help with getting my little sunny back in the shine.

Instant Glasscote. . .it's a polymer, goes on easy, lasts about 2 -3 seasons (depending on abrasion). West Marine catalog carries it. I could see myself in Moondog's hull after I applied two or three coats. Also it's pretty cheap, about $25.00 for a quart that would coat your hull several times.

Sounds good. I will look into that. Then, I'll be draggin' my little boat into the basement so I have a temp-controlled space to work. If I start now, I might have the little sucker completed by the end of May!
